Regular Weekly WorkoutsWeekly Track Workouts for Speed Development
Our "anchor" workout is offered weekly, year round, at two locations. We meet Tuesday night at 5:30PM at Santa Cruz High School track and Wednesday night at 6:00PM at the Soquel High School track. Workouts are posted the weekend before, and can be fit into training plans for sprint, middle distance, 5K, 10K, triathlon, 1/2 marathon, and marathon races. New to track? Ask Coach Brock for tips on how to transition into speed work. Saturday Form Drills Coach Greg Brock leads form drills most Saturday mornings at Santa Cruz High School, 8:30AM. Many people stay after for a second track workout, or run through Neary Lagoon to West Cliff Drive or the Wharf to Wharf course. Long Distance Sundays, year round, we meet at 8:30AM at various Santa Cruz County locations, including Wilder Ranch, Nisene Marks, Big Basin, Spring Street, and Fall Creek. Sunday run locations are posted to our Facebook and Twitter feeds by Friday evening. Participants are training at a variety of paces and intending to go a variety of distances (4-25 miles), so you are likely to find someone to keep you company most of the way. |
