PROGRAM DETAILS

The SCTC Ambassador program will consist of Track Club members that have been approved through an application process to represent the Santa Cruz Track Club as an Ambassador.

An Ambassador will serve to engage in the running community of Santa Cruz to influence new membership, engage with the SCTC members at large for member retention, increased participation, and act as a resource to members and a source for the board to better meet the needs of our members.​

PROGRAM GOAL

To foster relationships with potential and current members of Santa Cruz Track Club and engage participation. To promote good will in the running community.

  • Outreach to members for feedback and to increase participation

AMBASSADOR BENEFIT
  • Customized SCTC Swag 
  • Free race /Turkey Trot or Superbowl Sunday
  • Covers volunteer hours for year
HOW DOES ONE BECOME AN AMBASSADOR?
  • Simple application form (will provide 2-3 weeks for applying)
  • Brief phone consultation with a Board Member (we will provide a few questions)
  • Board will do selection process (goal of 5-6 initially)

AMBASSADORS

  • Be comfortable approaching others to encourage participation
  • The ability to communicate with others - Friendly and approachable
  • Attends at least one of the weekly events the majority of the time (or is planning to with restrictions lifting)
  • Has a good understanding of the different levels of members or who to ask to help guide members to groups that have similar running abilities and/or goals
  • Active social media is a plus but not mandatory
  • Agrees to be an Ambassador for a minimum of one year
  • Must be SCTC member for the respective year
  • Training will be provided with either monthly or bi-monthly meeting 
  • A lead Ambassador will be selected by the ambassador group
