Running has been my solace and passion for all of my adult life. I was fortunate to be encouraged by my brother to join cross country in high school and then was able to continue to run at UCSC when the program restarted there my sophomore year. There, I truly learned the love of running, competing and pushing myself beyond my perceived limits. I found road racing and the Santa Cruz Track Club upon finishing college where I found a community and a second family. While I have been in and out of the track club for 30 years now (life happens), every time I was able to come back to the group there were open arms and a true community. SCTC is all about promoting the love of running, a place to learn, to improve, to compete, or just be with your fellow runners.
